Our first-hand experience and knowledge of employing and supporting Apprentices has seen Serco place Apprentices in 80 contracts across the UK. Serco is a registered Ofsted Grade 2 national training provider of Apprenticeships and is well placed to offer work-based competency training to both businesses and employees to support their career progression. This service is provided by Serco's Skills team which is part of Serco's Employment, Skills and Enterprise (ESE) business. ESE sits under Serco's Citizen Services unit within the UK & Europe, Local and Regional Government division.
There are around 750 Apprentices in Serco and as a major supplier to the UK central government, we aim to continue to support Apprenticeships in a diverse range of roles across as many of our contracts as possible.
Serco offers Apprenticeships to over 200 job types in a range of industries including, leisure management, hospitality, engineering, custodial services, security, customer services, facilities management and business administration. Our aim is to have a dynamic, engaged workforce that will draw on the best of the nation’s talent in challenging, yet inspiring roles. We also provide apprenticeship support to training providers across the country.

Serco is keen to support its existing workforce in their professional development. All Serco Apprenticeship Diplomas (NVQ qualifications) are delivered, supported and assessed through Serco's Skills team. When the new levy starts, funding from the SFA will be a top up to the levy contribution from Serco which means there is no cost involved to the employer.
