Serco has been on the Government’s Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers since its inception, providing a full service - delivering, supporting and assessing apprenticeships.
We are home to a vibrant apprenticeship community with more than 600 apprentices in our business at any one time.
Our approach is tried and tested - we have been delivering apprenticeships in Serco for more than 15 years. In that time our dedicated Apprenticeship Team have successfully trained apprentices across 80 Serco contracts and 200 job types giving us unrivalled knowledge and expertise about the bespoke skills needs of our business.
Apprenticeships provide a structured pathway for training and development which combines work with study.
Through a blend of on the job training and learning, Apprenticeships at Serco offer you a flexible and cost effective route to enhance your skills and develop your career.
Serco Apprentices benefit from a dedicated Training and Assessment Officer and a structured package of support which can include: 1-2-1 training, remote learning, E-learning, options for group sessions and on and off the job training.
Our courses are devised to maximise flexibility for you and your line manager, with workplace visits from your Training and Assessment Officer adjusted to fit around your work routine, allowing you to progress at your own learning pace.
The majority of the apprenticeships on offer at Serco can be fully funded through the Apprenticeship Levy which means no additional costs to your business.
Apprenticeships are open to all age groups above 16 years-old whether you are just leaving school, have been working for years or are seeking to start a new career.
"The Apprenticeship scheme has been a really great experience as it has taught me many transferable life skills and helped me to establish what I want to do in the future. If it wasn't for the scheme I believe it would have taken me much longer to achieve my goals and be part of a professional HR service. It has opened up many opportunities for me, for which I am grateful".
Kiran Johal, Business Administration Diploma – HR Shared Services
"The real appeal of gaining an NVQ Level 2 qualification through an Apprenticeship is being able to learn while you work and earn. And I don’t have to go to college, yet I get all the support I need, whenever I need it from my Assessor."
Georgia, Serco Apprenticeship Scheme
"From gaining my Diploma in Business Administration while having the opportunity to work within the HR Shared Service I feel I have gained valuable experience that will help me start my career and hopefully secure a position here at Serco.
I have worked with several teams including; Transitions, Learning and Development, Service Operations and Recruitment. This is experience that I would have never received at my age without the Apprenticeship scheme".
