SSW are delighted to have contributed towards a drive to support local residents who are currently shielding in Walsall which is being spearheaded by Walsall Council and Making Connections Walsall.

Our SSW colleagues, Laura Johnson, Kim Smith and Ruth Bardsley rallied together to create "Kindness Boxes" for the local community. Well done team. 

Walsall Council continues its Kindness Box drive and is seeking the following items for inclusion:

✔️ Craft items – pens / pencils / drawing paper / writing paper
✔️ Needlecraft items – wool / material / knitting needles / sewing
✔️ Books – quiz books / colouring books / magazines / reading books
✔️ Food treats - chocolates / sweets / Easter Eggs
✔️ Jigsaws
✔️ Pampering products

The Skills Support for the Workforce programme, delivered by Serco, remains committed to remaining a socially minded employer and took the bronze award at the 2019 Walsall Works Partner Awards which recognised Serco's comittment to CSR.  The annual Walsall Works Expo is the borough’s largest jobs fair. Presented by Walsall Council, the award recognised the Skills Support for the Workforce programme for its commitment to help Walsall residents increase their skills, access opportunities and contribute to community.
