Skills Support for the Workforce
Chloe worked as a Marketing Officer at Fisher Solicitors and is responsible for all marketing activities. With a previous qualification in Marketing, Chloe’s goal was to grow and become a more rounded employee with an understanding of management and leadership qualities.
To meet her goal, Chloe completed the Team Leading NVQ Level 2 Diploma, which was delivered by Siamo Training, one of the expert training providers chosen to carry out the Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) programme. As SSW is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency, Chloe was able to access the training at no cost to herself or her employer.
As part of her training, Chloe wanted to understand how to manage herself and staff to ensure higher productivity and develop relationships with other departments to positively affect output. An aim of the course was to increase confidence in the style of managing and awareness in how others work.
Since completing the qualification, Chloe has been promoted to Marketing Manager with the course having directly impacted the achievement. It has also enabled Chloe to think about different aspects of the wider business and gain a greater understanding of different leadership styles to adapt accordingly. Chloe has more confidence as she better understands her role and the business, which provides her with a platform to continue progressing.
Chloe has ambitions to progress and complete further Leadership and Management training. She is currently discussing undertaking Level 5 and Level 7 Senior Management apprenticeships with her employer.
We’re excited to be collaborating with OneBelow as it rolls out its expansion plan. With the help of our Employer Engagement team, the retailer has already offered 15 Participants, one from Restart Scheme, jobs in its newest store and there’s more to come. We’re working on two more store openings this year and looking forward to collaborating on 20 stores being opened nationwide in 2022.
Desperate to return to the sector she loved, Sophie, a Culinary Arts Chef, wanted to put her niche skillset and passion for recipe development to good use. However, with many positions reserved for furloughed workers who were returning to work, Sophie’s job search was crumbling. Queue her introduction to Khaleal, her Remploy Job Coach on the Restart Scheme.
Local Worcester man, Sean, is the type of person you warm to. He’s full of compassion, engaging, and communicates well. So, the team at Seetec Pluss were excited for him when he received a job offer. But their hearts stopped when they realised he’d need to wear a suit to work, and he didn’t have one. Dejected, he asked whether this was this the end of his new career before it had even got started.
Adam* found himself in the same position as 800,000 other UK workers who were made redundant due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He applied for job after job, but found himself lacking at interview stage. Eager to spread his wings, Adam completed employability training through the Restart Scheme which helped him to secure full-time employment at a local poultry processing plant. Adam is now saving for a car and is looking forward to flying the nest soon.
