Restart Scheme

Continued support from the Restart Scheme helps jobseeker stay in work

6th Sep 2022 Restart Scheme

When Anna* joined the Restart Scheme this year, she was quiet, timid, extremely nervous and anxious. She had a challenging personal life which made her lack any confidence.

Meeting her Job Coach – Meena from Seetc Pluss – Anna opened up and spoke about her problems, as Meena listened to her with empathy and compassion. Meena then helped Anna with health and wellbeing coaching, one-to-one sessions and training. Anna quickly found her confidence and secured a job in a local café.

The support from the Restart Scheme doesn’t end when someone gets a job and, Seetec Pluss kept in touch with Anna. Within a few weeks of Anna working, she ended up taking on more hours in the café as she didn’t want to let her manager down. This led to a decline in her mental health and things were so bad, she wanted to quit her job.

When Seetec Plus spoke to Anna to check how things were going, Anna confessed that she was finding it hard to say no to her boss about taking on extra hours and talk about how she was feeling. She was then given further coaching sessions to help with her mental health which included some simple exercises on how to cope. Anna then was able to speak to her Manager and discuss how she was feeling.

As a result of the follow up calls, Anna is still in employment. She is now really happy in her role and her confidence has grown. The Restart Scheme was the missing piece of the puzzle in her life to support her. She’s now getting back on track and the future is looking bright.
