Restart Scheme

A fresh job following a full cycle of support

10th Nov 2021 Restart Scheme

Alyssa* was made redundant as a result of the pandemic and was struggling to find a new job. She was then dealt a further blow when she injured herself in a fall, which shrunk the jobs she could apply for. The Restart Scheme couldn’t have come at a better time for Alyssa.

The Business 2 Business team assured Alyssa they would do everything they could to help. This is so important as for jobseekers like Alyssa, it is often not just the practical job searching help they need but self-confidence mentoring too, as unemployment can really take its toll on an individual’s confidence and self-esteem.

Alyssa was determined to not let her back problems stop her from finding a job she loves, but she was unsure as to what jobs she could now do. So, the team got to know Alyssa’s skills and experience, and set to work contacting employers and sorting through roles to find the one which would be the perfect fit. With a new CV and fresh mindset, Alyssa was feeling confident and excited when a job was found at a local launderette.

But a new job wasn't the end of the cycle. As going back to work after being unemployed is a huge step, Business 2 Business continued to support Alyssa to make sure she settled in well and was feeling confident in her new role.
