Restart Scheme Helps Mohammed into a Security Officer Role

19th Sep 2023 Restart Scheme

Mohammed was unmotivated and low on confidence due to not receiving any responses from employers during his job search. Mohammed had a diploma alongside previous experience working as a Warehouse Operative, and as a Site Apprentice on site at his local college but was still not having any success in his job search.

Upon joining the Restart Scheme, Mohammed was immediately enrolled onto an Effective Job Search workshop to support him with his job search skills. He and his Job Coach, Bob-Kelvin Patrick from Reed in Partnership, had frequent conversations about his job search and what support he required.

With every conversation about his job search after the workshop, Mohammed’s motivation to return to work improved, which helped build his confidence. 1-to-1 personal coaching sessions with Bob also helped to support his job search.

As a result of his hard work, Mohammed interviewed with an employer and received an offer as a Security Officer working 42 hours a week.  Mohammed was also offered post-employment support due to his long hours as part of his Restart Scheme provision, so he can continue to work with his Job Coach if he needs further support whilst in employment.
