Restart Scheme Helps Philip Find Cleaning Role

29th Sep 2023 Restart Scheme

Philip had lost confidence during his job search due to various personal reasons and constantly being knocked back by employers. He also had low self-esteem and anger issues which meant he would react negatively whenever he felt pressured or not listened to - which happened on numerous occasions.

Philip joined the Restart Scheme and worked with his Job Coach, Peter Barton from Reed in Partnership, for support in finding a suitable role. Having previously undertaken the Reed Work Routes program where he developed job skills, Philip was enrolled onto interview skills workshops to boost his confidence and health and wellbeing sessions to address his personal challenges and anger issues.

Peter noticed that Phillip had previous cleaning and care skills and integrated that experience as part of his job search. The Reed In Partnership team also made a proactive effort to interact with him and make themselves available for Phillip whenever he needed help or moral support in his efforts to turn his life around.

As a result of his hard work, and with the additional help and support of the Restart Scheme, Philip was successful in obtaining a cleaning position for 16 hours a week with Atalian Servest, a national integrated facilities management solution company.
