Restart Scheme
At 60 years old, Darren had been out of work for 28 years. He had previously worked as a groundsman for the local council. He had been on multiple welfare-to-work programmes over the years but to no avail. This had led to a lack of confidence and motivation to work.
Darren had poor IT and job searching skills, and he didn’t have a CV. Beverly Jones, his Job Coach from Remploy, guided him to create a CV and make applications for suitable jobs. She also ensured that he was checking his emails regularly so any replies from the job applications he had made were seen in a timely manner.
With the help and support from Beverly, Darren managed to get a part-time job as a cleaner at a local shop.
