Serco's enterprise team are specialists in the design and delivery of business support contracts that support SME’s to flourish and boost economic development.

Digital Exploitation

Working alongside 35 local authorities across the South West, Wales and Cheshire, we have delivered 7 UK superfast broadband exploitation projects to maximise take up of the new infrastructure and new technologies it enables for business. These services delivered information to 85,000 businesses through more than 780 workshops and one to one advice.

We are currently supporting superfast broadband exploitation in partnership with 22 local authorities in Wales and in the first 18 months have delivered one to one support to more than 1,000 businesses with 1,600 attending events and 27,000 provided with information.

Our “Get up to Speed” contract supports the take up of broadband and improvement of digital skills in communities and businesses across Devon and Somerset.

Managing Grant Funds

We are delivering targeted digital advice and revenue grant funding to high growth businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, helping them to enter new markets, develop new products, create jobs and deliver transformational change.

Heart of the South West Growth Hub

We deliver the “Heart of the South West (HotSW) Growth Hub” on behalf of Heart of the South West LEP, an information, signposting and referral service. As part of this service we provide business intelligence to inform service delivery to 17 local authorities across Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay. In the HotSW area we support the Better Business for All (BBfA) pilot, helping to bring council run legislative advisory services into the mainstream.

Digitally enabled delivery

We offer all of our services digitally through website, social, email, VOIP as well as face to face support for businesses, working in partnership with local and regional government and local enterprise partnerships to align our programmes and support them in the achievement of their economic development goals, whilst delivering a first class service to business.

We have delivered 40 business support contracts in the last 10 years.
