Serco organise Wellbeing event in Swansea for Restart Scheme Participants

30th Jun 2023 Restart Scheme

Designed to bring together our Restart Scheme Participants with severe mental health barriers and those with complex needs and challenges, Partnership Coordinator Rhian Chilvers hosted a Restart Scheme Wellbeing Event recently, which saw over 40 Participants attend at the PeoplePlus office in Swansea.

The event was run in collaboration with our delivery partners; PeoplePlus, ITEC and Maximus. Present at the event were organisations that provide a range of services and support from training courses to everyday living needs.

A not unfamiliar story is that of Jack*, who despite being invited to many events and jobs fairs, could never face the thought of mixing with a room full of strangers. After being welcomed by the team, given a cup of tea and chocolate brownie, Jack was introduced to all the support organisations in attendance. This led to him signing up for a Learn & Change session run by Swansea University. Jack was relieved to make it to the event, he said everyone he met was so kind.

"I am so glad I pushed through my anxiety to come today".

The event set no expectations or agenda; it provided an opportunity for attendees to chat one-on-one with local support organisations in an informal setting.

Thank you to the following organisations who contributed to the success of this event:
